  Robby, I was shocked when listening to your show the congresswoman’s hard line on Government Loans. I really think the Fed is going to have to step in on this and do something. Way too many jobs at Staketo sit still and let the big three crumble!

  It’s a very delicate situation, and although I may know some about the car business I know very little about the Government. My thoughts are still that we need to pray that God will raise up leaders, with vision to build product that the American people will go out and buy in volume without going into so much debt.

  Our Automakers need as a primary purpose to make a great car at a great price that’s affordable. When a business makes their number one purpose to make a profit they become very non-competitive. For years I was a car salesman and in that competitive showroom world there would always be another guy whose primary focus was to make big commissions and usually they would do that, but in the process only sell 6 to 8 cars. I never even considered my commissions I just sold each car to match the budgets and desires of my customers and actually never even looked at the commission slips, and you probably guessed it, I sold about three times as many cars and made more than twice the money. Henry Ford, VW, Honda and even Iacocca’s Chrysler set out to make great cars Americans could afford. I think the bottom line is that if God can raise up leaders who can take the tremendous resources and man power and get them focused on making revolutionarily inexpensive cars, I’m talking radical, like using the foam that the glass is packed in to make seat cushions or the packing crate wood cut to the sizes of the floor boards. The kind of thinking Henry Ford did. We need that kind of team work and team vision with everyone working together and with God’s blessing we will be back.

  Saving GM: Inside the Crisis – CNBC will air an updated version of their special — Saving GM: Inside the Crisis — tonight, December 8, at 10 PM eastern time. The special includes video and interviews shot over the past week pertaining to the current situation, the GM plan put forth to Congress and an extensive interview with Fritz Henderson regarding the development of the plan and its implications for GM and the industry. The program will also include a segment shot out at the Fairfax plant and a look at what the plant is doing to save cost and improve quality. The hour long program will also include video of Rick Wagoner and Bob Lutz from the earlier special which ran during the summer. We expect the program will be a fair and positive look at what’s going on now and what GM is doing to conserve cash and gain support in Washington for a bridge loan.
