car-accidentWhich vehicle can cause the most injuries to the other vehicle it slams into while speeding?

Answer: The “Selfish Utility Vehicle

In an Article on MSN Money a year long study on vehicles most likely to be ticketed for speeding found the #1 culprit of all vehicles was THE “HUMMER”.  So I have decided that the “S” in SUV should be changed from “Sport” to “Selfish”.

Yesterday I was coming home from the Asheboro Zoo, (also the route many would come home from the beach in N.C.). I was driving the speed limit, (65) and couldn’t help but notice the folks that kept passing me going about 75-80 were mostly SUV’s, (Suburbans, Tahoes, Navigators, and the like, Even a Land Rover.) I was reminded that every week I talk about the 96 million gallons of gasoline Americans waste on speeding.

Just this Saturday I talked about the senseless slaughter of human life as a result of speeding, that one third of US fatalities involve speeding and result in over 27 billion dollars in property damage.

I would propose that “Selfish Utility Vehicle” drivers pay larger fines for speeding. They have the ability to waste the most gas and cause the most damage they need to have the biggest fines…

SUVs are mainly owned and driven by YUPPIEs who think that their financial and educational status puts them above the law… Blue collar workers drive pickups. Humanists drive Volvo station wagons. Need I go on?!
