1. I lost a good friend because she got out of her van and left the key on, (without the car running) to go back inside her house to get something. One of her kids pulled the van into neutral, when she saw the van rolling down the driveway she tired to stop it before it went onto a busy street. She died at the scene.
2. I could have not spent a year in a wheel chair if the driver uphill from me had set his parking brake when he got out of his jeep….my previous article.
3. Showing a new car with the engine running one of my salesman had a child reach up and put the car in gear and off it went across the front lawn of the dealership, with terrified parents and salesman chasing after it, The salesman actually caught up with it and got it stopped before anyone was hurt. It made parking brake believers out of the bunch.
