Your posting interested me so much, I decided to do some additional research and found some errors in your report.
First, and most glaring, M. Allen Swift passed away in 2005 … not last year. This would put the unbroken chain of ownership of this vehicle at about 77 years.
The car is currently on display at the Wood Museum of Springfield History which opened to the public in the fall of 2009.
The chain of ownership had been arranged before Mr. Swift’s passing by Mr. Swift, himself through a generous donation to the Springfield Museums for the purpose of honoring his 1928 Springfield-made Phantom I, S273 FP Rolls-Royce.

Thank you for this thought provoking post.

“… notes from The EDJE”
“dead silent at any speed”?
Could be true. If it was in orbit. Or true depending on how one defines ‘dead silent’. How many decibels is ‘dead silence’. 80? 85? What kind of tire or wheel makes no wind noise? Must be a helluva muffler.
This sort of exaggeration makes the story less credible. Facts are always better.
