my passover week thoughts
for years i have in the back of my mind wondering about Lot serving unleavened bread to those
two angels…..he was not Hebrew or Jew…..
and then this morning it clicked together with the unleavened bread in Egypt the night before
they fled (and afterwards) to commemorate
Lot and the Hebrew people both had unleavened bread before they left in haste without their
personal property….both were take out…lead out by the Lord in haste
in both cases it was a physical deliverance……two angels in one case and Moses and Aaron
second
whereas as the passover speaks of a spiritual deliverance…..
adam and eve in the garden and the Lord covering them with skins (which required the shedding
of blood)
abraham offering his son but ending up offering the ram(shedding of blood)
and the passover meal in Egypt with the shedding of blood and covering….with those all
pointing towards our passover lamb….jew and gentile…..Jesus
one speaks of an actual physical deliverance (jewish,hebrew) the other a future spiritual
deliverance for all times… (Jew first then the Gentile)
without the shedding of blood there is no remittance of sin
explaining myself is not one of my better skills…but think you will get what i am saying
or trying to say
all of this solidifies my belief that that night of the Lord’s supper was
with the passover meal with His disciples He finished fulfilled the old testament, old
covenant and then went onto the Lord’s supper revealing the new testament, new covenant.
that is the reason during the Lord’s supper it was with fermented grapes…wine and leavened
bread to represent with them the new covenant……jew and gentile
with the ot it was unleavened….with the nt it is leavened bread and the wine
I remember offering of leavened bread special offering….but will have to go back and find
it….future picture…maybe…..isn’t the church suppose to represent leavened bread…..
Lord’s supper was for the bride of Christ….believers..Jew then Gentile…….both….and the
gentile were not represented with unleavened bread……
so in one sitting…..both ot fulfilled finished and nt began…established
