You Need To Change The Air In Your Tires???? SAY WHAT????

You need to flush Brake Fluid every spring… True or False?

You need to change your oil every 3,000 miles… True or False?

You need to flush your transmission fluid every 30,000 miles… True or False?

You need a Tuneup every 50,000 miles… True or False?

You need a front end alignment every 3 months… True or False?

You need to  winterize your coolant system every fall… True or False?

You need to change your cabin air filter every spring… True or False?

You need to rotate your tires every oil change… True or False?

The scary thing about all lies is there is usually some truth in there, most folks I imagine would have said, “False” to all the above, but each of the above statements can be true depending, yes depending on a number of factors.

So how can you find the truth, and wisdom in your cars maintenance needs, “THE OWNERS MANUAL”, yes like the Bible came from our manufacturer, your cars designers know what your car needs for maintenance. Believe me, they don’t want your car to break down especially during the warranty period. They know they put long life transmission fluid or coolant or not, (*****VERY IMPORTANT****) you use the right fluids.

So could all the above statements be true or false?  How’s this?

  • Break fluid change every spring… Smart Cars recommend changing fluid every 20k miles so if you drive 20k miles a year in your Smart Car , yes. If you drive a Chrysler Product to my knowledge none other that the Sprint Van ever recommend changing the brake fluid… AGAIN check your owners manual…
  • Change your oil every 3,000 miles… In town hard driving like a Taxi or dusty roads yes.. mostly 5k to 7k miles with synthetic longer…AGAIN check your owners manual…
  • Need a Tuneup every 50,000 miles… What if you own a 1969 Camaro, yes, but computer driven ignition systems don’t require tuneups… AGAIN check your owners manual…
  • Need a front end alignment every 3 months… True or False?… Taxi in Baltimore, maybe more than that, but most of us not… AGAIN check your owners manual…
