Please be in prayer this weekend for Bankruptcy Judge Arthur Gonzales. He has now said he will issue his opinion on the proposed sales of Chryslers Assets to Fiat on Monday. 781 Dealers Franchises could be seized by the government, Bond Holders Assets, thousands of employees, suppliers all hang in the balance.  There are 360 protests and Judge Gonzales has to decide does he uphold the law, truth and justice, or do the ends justify the means and the need for a quick bankruptcy not allow for these issues to be resolved in detail. Decisions we all face every day do we do it quick or do we do it right…..What would Jesus have us do…..read these verses below and clearly we need to pray.

The people at General Motors need our prayers as well. Their bankruptcy looms Monday as well.

The Parable of the Persistent Widow

 1Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. 3And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’

 4″For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care about men, 5yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually wear me out with her coming!’ ”

 6And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

In the next two days 1,789 GM and Chrysler dealers will be getting a letter telling them they will lose their franchise and will be forced to close. Job losses of an estimated 150,000

Company Line: GM has 6,246 dealers. Toyota has fewer than 1,500. Honda has about 1,000. These fewer and larger dealers are better able to advertise stock and service the cars they sell. The dealers are protected from termination by state laws. Chrysler’s Bankruptcy and Gm’s imminent Bankruptcy may trump these laws

Dealers Are the Salesman, not an expense but income producers.

Example: If you were still trying to sell VCR’s. Firing the Salesman wouldn’t increase your profits the product is the problem not the distribution system.

Again I say the product is the problem, if GM and Chrysler were competitive they would need more dealers not less.

More dealers means more convenient sales and service outlets, customers don’t have to drive near as far for service.

Small Town car dealers are a big part of the Tax base and community, soccer leagues, golf tournaments etc…

Smaller dealers tend to have a higher customer satisfaction. You can’t stay in business in a small town and upset many customers.

Here is the worst part. Chrysler said in court that it wouldn’t make incentive payments to dealers it wouldn’t keep, which lowered its budget for such payments by 25 percent. On the Conference call at noon they said they would??? These dealers used their own money to sell these cars; this could mean as much as a million dollars at some stores. Lying, Cheating and Stealing all under the government guidance, unthinkable. I used to wonder how the German people all stood by and allowed Hitler to do all that he did. I now understand that when the people look to the government as their Savior, the ends, apparently justify the means, even in this country.

We need to seek the right Savior personally, Jesus is our only hope.
