Honestly based on my own pride and vain glory, I have always read the passage in Mark chapter 6:4 on “A prophet is not without honor, except in his hometown and among his relatives and in his own household.” like Rodney Dangerfield , “No wonder I, don’t get no respect”, this week the Holy Spirit had a whole new insight here for me and a new chance to see miracles and healing from my own friends and family.

“He went away from there and came to his hometown, and his disciples followed him. And on the Sabbath he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things? What is the wisdom given to him? How are such mighty works done by his hands? Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him. And Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his hometown and among his relatives and in his own household.” And he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them. And he marveled because of their unbelief.”

Recognizing wisdom and miracles does not equal growth or fruit…Jesus’ home boys lose faith not gain Wisdom or Deep healing. Tragically by  comparing occupation, or family status is the work of fools as is clearly demonstrated here.

“He’s a Carpenter” … I’m a manager or a business owner.”

“His parents live on depot street mine live on Park Avenue.”

Jesus goes further to say a Prophet is dishonored in His own house.

Family affairs are loaded with envy, bitter roots, judgements, and satanic agreements. What God designed to nurture us has been corrupted to a place of pain for many, even in a Jesus family.

It’s all to easy to see how this is how I am dishonored, (a car salesman) LOL .. The real opportunity here is to find who and why I am dishonoring because of my pride, envy, bitter roots, judgements and satanic agreements.

As to the reason Jesus wasn’t able to do the miracles is priceless…

No one asked, it’s that simple. Proud people don’t ask for nor will they receive help, especially from inferior friends and relatives. My own prayer: “Jesus, help me to see this in my life it is rampant.”

Not only do I not get the miracles and the wisdom but I also ROB my friends relatives and home boys of the joy of giving!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
