Like many we went to the beach on vacation this summer and as we sat in the sun on the sand I observed something that still has me intrigued. Numerous infants who were just starting to walk, they would run, (if they could), strive, reach for the ocean with all they had and not stop until exhausted. Even more amazing to me were the special need folks, each seemed in the same desperate need to be in the ocean, one young man I observed for literally hours as he stood up to about his knees in the water, literally flailing his arms with excitement the whole time. What do they see? What has them so enthralled? My guess is the living water, they see Jesus.

As I stand on the shore of the 119th Psalms I picture King David literally flailing his arms with excitement at the vast living water of the Word of God. “OPEN my eyes God let me see it” he screamed in verse 18. Just as the child like hearts screamed to see the living water of the ocean…

As Jefferson Moore said in his Movie – “The Perfect Stranger” – “God designed us with a need for love that is so big only He can fill it.” The ocean is just a start. Yet we get glimpses if we look. Where have you been in such awe, flailing your arms with excitement? Let’s go surfin now everybody’s leaning how, come on a safari with me.
