As of January 13, 2018 the list looks like this.

  1. 2018 Nissan  Versa $12,110
  2. 2018 Chevy Spark $13,050
  3. 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage $13,395
  4. 2018 Kia Rio $13,995
  5. 2018 Ford Fiesta $14,115

A quick study of these cars; they seem to have a 4 star crash ratings, all will get you amazing gas mileage near 37mpg HWY, plenty of horse power room for at least two….

Then, why, why, why would the average new car purchase in the U.S. be $33,560 ????    The scary thing I heard recently is now some credit unions are financing cars for 120 months and its very common for people to go 84 months.

I find it amazing that Hyundai, Honda, VW all came in to the U.S. with the lowest price offering of their time but now you don’t see any of them on the list. That’s because there is so much more money to be made selling $33K cars and obviously Americans will buy much more of those then they will buy the cars listed above.

Here is some truth I pray will help.

#1 vehicles can and will continue to run as long as you maintain them and keeping one will save you much more money than you would imagine. See Average American Car Budget Plan 2016.

#2 Debt is bondage plain and simple, the less you have the more freedom you have. Trusting God has given you all you need for now without debt takes amazing courage but the fruit will taste amazing.

#3 “Wisdom cries out in the streets”. Trust God will provide, if you ask for wisdom he will give it don’t give in. Jame 5:1 “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”  What a great prayer, “God, I need your help on the right car at the right price for the right amount of time.” God will meet your needs…but… like the rest of that chapter explains James 1:6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.”
