Here’s A Plan for you…LOOK before you backup!
More than 50% of all collisions with pedestrians happen in parking lots
NHTSA estimates that 22 percent (more than one-fifth) of children between ages 5 and 9 killed in traffic crashes were pedestrians. Most of these accidents occurred because drivers failed to see kids while backing up their vehicles.
Mirrors, backup cameras all help, but there is nothing like actually seeing for yourself just to make sure…Lives are at Stake..
A Few More Back-Up Plans
- Use your cell phone camera to take a pic of the parking section you are in when in unfamiliar lots
- Always Pull forward first when leaving a parking space, (helps with the angle of departure)
