No doubt Charles Dickens encapsulated the Orphan Spirit in Oliver Twist. All alone no one really cares, if its going to get done, its up to me. That’s how I always felt when I prayed, that was up until Monday morning.

My normal morning I hope to be up by 4am, feed the animals get my coffee and praying by 4:15, fortunately that was the case Monday and I pray along the lines of the daily prayer I spoke about in my show a year or so ago and posted here. When I get to the part that says, “Heavenly Father thank You for loving me”. Lately I imagine my self rising like Solomon in my show, “Getting a Lift From A Lion”. Then placed in the Father lap for an intimate time of anointing as described in my article, on the 23rd Psalm. Monday as I was delighting in the Father, I looked up and asked, “could I ask You, a question?” The Father laughed with approval and I asked, “Am I the only one up here, in Your lap?”.

Oh, words can not describe the joy that was in His face as He said, “I’m so glad you asked, Robby.” Then it was as if a veil was lifted and I became aware that everyone I cared about was there, my wife and children, grand children my dear friends and even some who aren’t so dear. Multitudes were there, or should I say are there.

What I then became aware of was the veil that God had lifted was the orphan spirit, perhaps one of the greatest evils that befalls mankind. I know I have felt it, that feeling that Jesus cried out on the cross, “My Father, My Father, why have You forsaken Me?”

Then I noted the pluralistic way Jesus taught us to pray, “Our Father – Give us and forgive us as we”.

I also noted Daniel’s prayer in Daniel Chapter 9 : 4 “I prayed to Adonai my God and confessed, saying: ‘O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and mercy with those who love Him and keep His mitzvot, 5 we have sinned; we have committed iniquity; we have acted wickedly; we have rebelled; we have turned away from Your mitzvot and from Your rulings. 6 We have not listened to Your servants the prophets,[a] who spoke in Your name to our kings, our leaders and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.

Nehemiah’s prayer in Chapter 1:6 please let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open to hear the prayer of Your servant that I am praying before You today both day and night on behalf of Your servants, the Bnei-Yisrael. I am confessing the sins of Bnei-Yisrael that we have sinned against You—yes, I and my ancestral house have sinned. 7 We have acted very corruptly against You. We have not kept the mitzvot, the statutes, nor the rulings that You commanded Your servant Moses.

With an understanding of the antidote for the Orphan spirit gained by ingesting Charles Dickens’ “Oliver Twist” Martin Horsey, Keith Hampshire wrote these lyrics, Consider Yourself

So are we alone when we pray, I’m thinking “NOT”! So how about your driving, do you consider its you against every driver out there or is it a team effort, we all need to get places and by helping the traffic flow WE can enjoy the Fellowship of The Father’s Delight as we let that other driver in… Just sayin.
