If your son or daughter was desperate for money couldn’t take their child to the emergency room for fear of the cost and they didn’t call to ask you for help would you feel like they robbed you of the chance to love on them? The more I study Habakkuk’s prayer in Habakkuk 1 :2 the more this understanding comes to my mind.

“O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!”

Habakkuk 1:2

This verse has the voice of mankind in general’s question to God and implies that He does not care, though the prophet will share in chapter 2: 1 that he knows God is going to reprove him for this and other thoughts. Habakkuk at least asks the question; tragically I rarely do but just fail to ask for help because deep down in places I don’t really understand I lack faith. Which is where God eventually takes Habakkuk in his amazing verse Chapter 2 verse 4.

Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

Habakkuk 2:4

So how do I grow my faith? This is the critical question since trusting the heart of God as the ultimate Father is why I lack peace and patience and Kindness, etc…

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 10:17

To study and read and pray and listen to the Word of God is to reach those deep places; as He is the Word and He is in my heart and the more of Him/His word gets in there, the more I will not rob Him.
