Sometimes the “Light” comes on in the word of God and it illuminates all sorts of things and connects so many dots as did this passage for me this week. I was reading William Gurnall’s ” The Christian in Complete Armor” and in speaking of the full armor he said that Jesus instructed us to be clothed in this passage Luke 12:35. I had my Bible Gateway on the Orthodox Jewish Bible and in that translation it said “Tighten your gartels (a Jewish Belt) for action and have your menorah’s lit”. When I saw the word menorah I immediately saw Revelation 4: 5 “From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God”.
Knowing the Seven Spirits of God from Isaiah 11 added this to my illumination.
11 There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse,
and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.
2 And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him,
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and might,
the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
3 And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord.
Now with this picture clearly in mind, Imagine all of Jesus followers going forward clothed in Him and with this kind of light both lighting our path and a path for other to follow. I also noted that there are seven colors in the rainbow and the coincidence that green happens to be the fourth and that on the fourth day of creation God made the plants. Added to that the 7th and I believe most powerful Spirit is the “Delight in the fear of the Lord” and that is Purple is something to wonder about, but no doubt all seven make white light and such will be our raiment forever…. WHAT A PICTURE
