This week Jesus and I had a talk that sounded a whole lot like Luke 13 if you want compare to what I am saying.

Jesus said, “Robby, do you suppose those people in New York who are so plagued by Covid 19 are greater sinners than hose people in North Carolina, because they suffered such things, I tell you NO, but if you don’t repent you will likewise perish. Or those people in Spain and Italy do you think they sinned more than other countries, I tell you NO, but if you don’t repent you will likewise perish.

Then He told this story, “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. And he said to the vinedresser, ‘Look, for three years now I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down. Why should it use up the ground?’ And he answered him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and put on manure. Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’” Luke 13:6-9

I’m kinda like Biff…”I HATE MANURE”, but the valley of humiliation, as described in John Bunyan’s, Pilgrim’s Progress is filled with it. The really cool and amazing word that Jesus used first in Luke 13 was repent, in Hebrew that word is strongs H5162 used 108 times in the old testament it is translated comfort 57 of those times and repent only 41. In fact when David says in the 23rd Psalm, “Thy Rod and Thy Staff they comfort me, you could translate that, they repent me.

Think back to Jonah, like Biff he was covered in Manure, yet in repentance God Comforted him, or in the New Testament the Prodigal Sun was covered in Pig Manure, yet the Prodigal Father fed him a Steak Dinner.

It’s really amazing to think what Jesus is telling us in that parable, he wants to give it a year, totally break up our fallow ground, meaning disrupt our world and pile on the manure of humiliation so that we will seek comfort/repentance/HIM – Jesus is the comfort… He really is and if you look at that word repent in Hebrew, The letters kinda spell out in my interpretation NUN – Faith Seed then CHET – Married to and MEM – Messiah/Jesus… In Faith Married and Connected to The Vine – JESUS – YES, that’s how we can bear fruit in keeping with repentance.

Please, please don’t mistake the alternative, you perish! Jesus is LIFE and Life abundant!!! Get Connected TODAY!
