Details, Details, Details… They say the devil is in the details and getting him out takes some strong stuff, here are three 5’s that have helped me this week.
The First 5
- Wheel Cleaner
- More Shine Tire Dressing
- More Shine Less Time Trim Cleaner/ with Gust
- Speed Bead
- Invisible Glass Reach and Clean Tool
Recently Stoner Car Care Solutions sent me the car cleaning kit pictures above just in time for Spring cleaning in hopes that I would review it as many companies do and you may notice I rarely comment because they rarely do what they say they will. Although ‘Invisible Glass’ will not make your glass invisible, (I’m thinking you may have guessed that), I really did enjoy the products and would love to share the story.
As you may recall my Step Mother Passed Away recently and we inherited her 2002 Lincoln Blackwood. I could never replace Old Red, so it was substantially nicer than our Dodge Mini Van so my wife took it. With the Calvary Classic Car Show Coming I decided to detail it Engine Compartment and all.
First the engine compartment. After wiping it all down with a wet rag, (I never use a hose in the engine compartment, too many electronics), I went to work on all the plastic cover with the More Shine Less Time Trim Cleaner, all I can say is WOW!!! It looked great. Then I closed the hood wet it down with the hose and washed it with some water and Palmolive dish soap.
Next the wheels with their ‘Wheel Cleaner’ and I will say it was awesome. Alloy wheels and brake dust are not fun but this stuff made it fun, really I was more than amazed at how easy and how beautifully it did them.
Next the bugs and tar with the Tarminator, not quite as impressive on the 2002 Black Lincoln but it did get some off. I used their Visible Shine for the hood and roof a synthetic sealant and the Speed Bead for the Wood and vinyl sides. They were both a joy to use and really made it shine.
Then the Tire Shine, pretty good stuff, then I moved to the interior with the ‘Trim Cleaner”, Trim Shine” and “Leather Cleaner” all got the job done with out a greasy feel or too much perfume, they really got the interior looking and smelling clean and protected. I was feeling pretty proud of my work, hadn’t really done this much since my reconditioning days.
Last but certainly not least was the glass and this is truly where I would highly recommend this stuff, their Invisible Glass reach and clean tool made this so much easier and by this point I was getting a little tired. The best part however is not just that your widows are clean but when it rains, OH MY! What a difference how the wipers work and how well you can see at night. Invisible Glass really is impressive at night in the rain driving on the Highway… Yes all in all I feel I was bringing a little bit of the Kingdom to my wife as she drives her clean and cared for Lincoln Blackwood.
The Second 5
Genesis 6:5
“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.“
Satan had corrupted God’s design and so talk about winter erosion, pollen, dust and debris everywhere all collected in our minds. God had something a lot stronger than Stoner’s products … Noah’s flood a picture of an even strong detail agent, The Blood of Jesus Christ. That blood gives us a chance at having a thought life of praising God, love, joy, peace etc…
The thing God was working on me, (detailing me) all week was how God sees all those thoughts, pride, lust, envy, hate…self…self…self and those are such a burden to Him that He was grieved he even made man, whom he had said was, very good before the fall. That brings us to the next 5
The Third 5
2 Corinthians 10:5
“Casting down arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”
What a detailing, with the Freedom we have in Christ we can do this. Dallas Willard in the Book “Life without Lack Living in the fullness of Psalms 23” teaches that this verse is the contrast to Genesis 6:5, that if your every thought was captive to Christ your cup would run over and over and over. So meditating on the 23rd Psalm is a start, memorizing and pondering bringing the Kingdom inside the details of your mind.
