For years I have been fascinated with Ancestry and enjoyed hours of studying the lives of my ancestors. With the help of the internet and ancestry sites their are many treasures available pictures and stories I would have never dreamed were out there. The story I was always interested in with my ancestors was their faith Journey and tragically it’s the one thing you can rarely find but would be to me the most precious. In 2012 my mother and I had a conversation about how cool would it be to have Great Grand Father Mortimer Dilmore’s testimony in his own words, my mother lamented that she didn’t really even know her own parents. Think about this in your own family, how cool would it be to have your Great Grand Mother’s testimony how about even your parents? Thus was born the contest above that we ran in 2012. I immediately asked my mom to write her testimony and wrote my dad for his.
Think of the power that is in your story, Acts 1:8 “but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” Yes, when we write our story we are a witness to what God has done in our life. The power of this for the Kingdom of God is beyond our understanding. Who knows that your great grand son may read it and believe or perhaps a great, great, great nephew.
