In my view God is all about honoring Life and mourning death as the passages in Leviticus 15:19 show in a deeper study.

“If a woman has a discharge, her flesh discharging blood, she shall remain in her state of menstrual separation for seven days, and whoever touches her shall become unclean until evening.”

We think nothing but honoring thoughts if someone wears black at a funeral and to a great extent that’s what I feel God wants us to do is mourn the loss of life in this and the Mikvah or Baptism afterwards is raised to walk in newness of the chance for life with the new egg now in place. I found this awesome article at chabad.org that does an amazing job of explaining this.
