Have you every wondered what that word meant from the Gospels that the people cried out to the Son of David? “Hosannah”, they were quoting from the 118 Psalm verses 25 & 26
25 Save now, I beseech thee, O Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.
26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lord: we have blessed you out of the house of the Lord.
So those words – ” Save Now, I beseech thee” in Hebrew sounds like Hosannah. In other words it’s a prayer and for good reason, they need a savoir, they just don’t either know how bad they need one and from what. Actually just like me.
What I see as a amazing use of scripture prayer is to actually, call out, “Hosannah” when you need saving just like with a dead battery. Especially in even more important matters…
Perhaps you may have thought, like me in the past, that Hosannah was actually a name of Jesus or His name. Well in a really amazing way you are right. The word save or salvation in Hebrew is Yeshua, so when you actually look inside the prayer it says “save us” – the save is Yeshua… Amazing right, God had such in mind when He had Joseph and Mary name Him, Yeshua or Jesus.
