Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

John 15:8

That Phrase, “Apart from me you can do nothing”, (john 15: 5) just rings and rings in my ears constantly, yes John 15 has to do with abiding in Jesus but how do I do that?????

Years ago I heard of a man that lost his wife and he began to pray and pray more as a result of his need for comfort, he said it was if I picked up the phone and called Jesus, more and more – AND THEN – ONE DAY I NEVER HUNG UP…. WOWZERS… That’s it that’s what I want but how can I do that?

God helped me out with this recently in my never ending struggle to understand the Lord’s Prayer, especially the part about, “lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” I was looking at a passage in Exodus 21: “If she not Please her master” is the first part of that verse and the word’s “NOT PLEASE” in Hebrew is RA or evil, the moment I saw it I knew what God was telling me. Simply, anything that does not please God is evil…

So I can really pray that can’t you – “God deliver me from anything that does not please you.” How cool is that and helps me abide at the same time. So with that under my belt I went for the tough one and dug in again to lead me not into temptation.

Looking closely in Exodus 17:7

And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?

Exodus 17:7

I love that last line and I began to ponder, a friend of mine struggles with the thought that God never gives him what he wants, other people get what they want but he never does. So perhaps the Lord’s Prayer I could say.. “Father, don’t lead me anyplace where I will fall into believing You are not with me and for me.” Simple but makes me feel so good and abiding, where I can bear much fruit….
