I don’t remember ever doing my show on my Birthday but I’m am told by my statistical friend this should be the third time, and yes I love my birthday and this is my 66th to enjoy, yet God has had me considering King David’s as I think he shares what he said that day in Psalms 119:57.

“CHETH. Thou art my portion, O LORD: I have said that I would keep thy words.”

Psalms 119:57

No we don’t know the day, but it does say what he said, the letter Cheth in Hebrew has much to do with marriage and life, so when the Psalmist says “Thou art my portion” the root of that is take and specifically the take as in “I take this man to be my husband”. The portion part is very much the portion of the Levites and the mana and Psalm 16:5 where he there also takes the cup.

Now the word translated “said”, that is Amar in Hebrew and it is the very cool first word of man that we have recorded…in Genesis 2:23

“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”

Genesis 2:23

Adam’s marriage vow and covenant to be one flesh with Eve.

In John 1:12 we learn how to get married to Jesus using the same word in Greek as the Hebrew word take.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”

John 1:12

So to receive or take Christ is not only your spiritual birthday you are saying yes to the dress as the Bride of Christ. So what of our Vow? I love David’s don’t you.

“I will Keep Your Word”

His Word – Love the Lord you God with all your heart and all your soul and all your might and love you neighbor as your self. Wow, quite some vows and the more we learn the more we can keep them.

The other amazing thing is we now have a new name and identity just as when we get married… Much to consider every Birthday…
