In Hannah’s prayer in 1 Samuel 1:11 three times she refers to herself as God’s maidservant.
“Then she made a vow and said, “O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.””
A maidservant – the Hebrew word “AMA” very similar in spelling to mom or mother with one extra letter on the end which in Hebrew means to reveal to express or even breathe. Fascinating, right, Hannah’s sees herself clearly, (she says it three times), as God’s maidservant and that in itself is a mom expressed. My mom sure was, she served me in every sense of the word.
With that said, listen to Jesus, I think we can all see what Jesus is saying. WE ARE HIS BRIDE AND maidservant… Just sayin- Say Yes to the dress…
John 12:26 –
“If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.”
