From the skins God covered Adam and Eve with, Tar/Pitch on Noah’s and Moses’ Arcs, the Arc of the Covenant, and now a Christian’s heart; God has got you covered in more than amazing ways. The depth of witch I can’t fathom, but I do love spending time attempting it.

The picture above is my  attempt to share somethings that make me worship the Master Story Tellers, God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. God’s Justice and Mercy combine in these covers to expose such value here’s just a taste. Adam and Eve’s attempt to cover and hide in the fig leaves, God gave them skins, a blood sacrifice so He could continue to look on them with His grace and Mercy.

Noah’s Arc was to be covered with tar/pitch inside and out, so the water of the flood, (God’s Wrath) couldn’t harm the precious cargo inside. Similarly Moses mother put him in a tiny arc and covered it with slime that he would be drawn out of the water, (Moses) a picture again of God’s mercy and justice meeting.

Moses would be given the instructions in Exodus 25 on how to make the cover for the Arc of the Covenant or the Mercy seat as we know it. Not only would these gold Cherubim’s wings cover the law, but each year the high priest would sprinkle the blood of the sacrifice to make it holy so God could look on his beloved. This picture is so amazing so remarkable because what is in the arc and what it really is a picture of.

God showed me something I don’t think I will ever fully grasp or get to the depth of it, but it simply blew me away. The exact location of the lost Ark of the covenant. I was reading Waking the Dead by John Eldredge in his chapter on the heart and he said, “don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you 1 Cor 3:16. Okay – each of us is now then the temple of God. So where, then is the Holy of Hollies? Your heart.”

Then, then the law and the manna and the rod that budded are inside my heart.

Wow and double wow God said that he would write His law on our hearts Jeremiah 31:33 and we hide his word in our hearts, Psalms 119:11 which is spiritual food.

And the rod that budded oh the rod that budded, that might be the best past. Matthew Henry taught that the rod is a picture of Christ. Aaron’s rod was of the almond tree the first to blossom and bear fruit in the spring. Jesus is the first fruits and then, (I so love this), Matthew Henry also said it was the same rod that Moses Used to strike the rock where the streams of living water came from John 7:38 “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

Now, with Jesus blood over all that in your heart, look what the Father sees when he looks at you. Yes a price more valuable than anything in the universe, the blood of His son. Yes the story has been and is always being told, God’s cover it’s divine and it’s covering you, like the pitch and the tar and the skins and the Mercy Seat all keeping you safe from the Wrath… IF… You believe it.
