Years ago I heard this story that got down into my soul somehow, and ever since I would say it has been my quest.
There once was a man after losing his wife and love of his life, the poor man in sadness turned to God for the first time in his life and he turned to him in prayer and he said it was like picking up the phone and calling his dearest friend. As time went on he shared that he would pick up the phone more and more in prayer to talk to his Friend. The relationship grew and grew and he picked up the phone more and more until one day – YOU GUESSED IT – he never hung up.
Man do I want that and have wanted it for years, I can see now more clearly than ever, really, that it is my quest, and God through prayer and studying and memorizing His word continues to get me closer though I still feel miles from the finish line.
I would note that the man had an advantage, his affliction, his grief and loss. Just like King David shared twice in the TET – section of the 119 Psalm.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.
71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.
The really cool thing is TET means goodness and not just any old goodness but God’s goodness – TOV- . Yet like the letter Tet the goodness is often hidden in affliction. Joseph’s, “what you meant for evil, God meant for good.”
Don’t get me wrong I am not asking for affliction so I can reach my quest, I am just saying that when it comes, don’t waste the pain…
On today’s show I am hoping you will share with me your wisdom on how you “Don’t Hang Up”…
Thank you so much for reading this… Blessings, Robby
