As crazy as all this is; we may set the record this year with over 31 million vehicles recalled. If I didn’t know better I would say there might be a curse involved…LOL.. So to start off with here are some helpful links for both Toyota and GM Owners from the manufactures themselves which in my view is the best place for vital information about your vehicle.
Toyota Air Bag and other recalls
So here is the concern I have with folks freaking out about conspiracies and coverups etc… I am pretty sure that most every engineer at all these companies get’s up every morning hoping to discover a better more efficient, dependable and inexpensive way to design their particular component, but oops they never thought about someone hanging 40lbs of trinkets and jangles from their key ring. I do understand this is a tragic mistake and it costs lives, horrible stuff and it should have gotten much more attention earlier, but just like the guy who never thought anyone would have a 40lb key ring, the other guys and media folks made mistakes as well. WE all do don’t we?
So what can we glean from all this… Personally I don’t think any ignition switch was designed to hold as much as we put on them so how about reducing those jangles on your key ring. Next if we really want to find someone to blame, my pick would be Adam. Yes Adam blew it too, he allowed Eve to get in with the wrong crowd and not rise up against her foe and then he himself disobeyed God. The result is the curse and yes my truck ‘Old Red’ is cursed and so is your vehicle. When God told Adam thorns and briars are going to come from the ground well yes what is my truck made of, “Ground”. Oh we mine and get iron and make steel and refine the other elements to make plastic etc… but it all comes from the ground so it will have the curse associated with it. You can take the utmost care of any car and chances are it will still break at some point; cursed I’m telling you. Who put the curse on it, God. SO who can help you and me with the problem God. Isaiah put it so eloquently as he beseeched his heavenly Father:
Isaiah 63
16 For you are our Father,
though Abraham does not know us,
and Israel does not acknowledge us;
you, O Lord, are our Father,
our Redeemer from of old is your name.
17 O Lord, why do you make us wander from your ways
and harden our heart, so that we fear you not?
That’s really hard for me to grasp, “Why do you, God, make us wander”? But it goes back to Adam, it was Adam’s sin but it was God that put the curse on that we live under. You see the end of that verse, we need to fear God as Father.
Critical elements to survival in my book are both found here and in the Lord’s Prayer.” Our Father which art in heaven”….and later “lead us not into temptation”. “WHAT??? Why am I asking God, my Father not to lead me into temptation?
One biggie is is is not me but US. Lead us not, and you see that in Isaiah’s prayer as well it’s plural. We are talking all of Adam’s kids here. God put a curse on us, YES He did. We have blown it we didn’t think through all this stuff we are dust I tell you and by God our Father’s Grace,(we are His Favorite!!) God will lead us not into temptation or as in the case of Peter not allow Satan “to sift us like wheat”. We can become a “New Creation“, with a pure Heart, but it takes prayer to lift the curse we need to talk with Daddy, He is the one who knows and can lead us through this fallen world.
We can go on blaming and accusing each other, but clearly our battle is not against flesh and blood and in the WAKE of our blame just as Adam blamed Eve we crush other lives hopes and dreams. So truly, truly do as Paul instructs and put on the FULL ARMOUR of God in the fear of the Lord and make a difference for good.
