Paul McCartney had a dream, a very vivid emotional dream of a visit with his mother, who’s name was Mary, in which he was still struggling with her death when he was 14 years old, and her words of wisdom to him in that dream in reference to his struggle and missing her was, “let it be.”

Similarly God used the words “Let There Be Light” and all the other Let There Be’s to create the world. So when King David was giving us the eight verses on the letter Yud in Psalms 119, not coincidentally, (in my view), the Holy Spirit had him use the last five to start with the word, “Let”…

76 Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.

77 Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.

78 Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts.

79 Let those that fear thee turn unto me, and those that have known thy testimonies.

80 Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed.

Psalms 119:76-80

To understand the meaning of the letter “Yud”is to see something amazing in all this. You see an infinite God had to really shrink himself in order to create a finite world, thus the letter “Yud” is just a dot, the smallest of all letters, though it is always the beginning point of any of the letters, “The Little That Means A lot.” Just as a Kindergarten teacher has to shrink her understanding of the alpha bet to teach it to her students, God has been doing this with us since the day we were born. Even to the point that Christ himself had to shrink Himself down to come as a man to save us.

Look closely at both Paul McCartney’s verses and King David’s and you can see the shrinkage … We will share all this on Today’s show.
